My name is Andrew Lenius, and I started SDHI after my wife and I moved to the Pittsford area. I am a self-starter who, after 23+ years in the global Information Technology space, needed to get out of the office and away from the computer.
I enjoy working with my hands, excel at problem solving, and find it rewarding to help others in my community while still being able to support my family. I’m constantly growing my service skills and have experience in almost all aspects of home and property maintenance (see our service list below along with our project photos page). I’ve built these skills over the past 17+ years of home ownership and assisting family and friends with their projects.
The SDHI business name is inspired by our company mascot Violet, a highly energetic black & white English Cocker Spaniel. You can see a few photos of her on the main page and will add more as we update the website.

pricing & additional information
Firm Estimates*
- SDHI provides firm estimates to assist customers with budgeting and planning and to alleviate any concerns about hidden costs. This means the price will not change regardless of actual time to complete the agreed-upon scope of work.
- SDHI will provide an estimate via email for customer review and acceptance. Estimates are valid for 30 days from date of issuance.
- *In the event an issue is identified that significantly changes the project scope, SDHI reserves the right to work with the customer to discuss the identified issue and define an adjusted scope that is fair for both parties.
Pricing
- All pricing is determined on a per-project basis and will be agreed upon with the customer before any work is performed.
- The minimum starting cost for any SDHI project is $125.
- For most small projects, pricing can be determined with customer provided photos and a phone call prior to site visit.
Trip Charge
- Mileage may be included in an estimate to offset travel costs and is based on the round trip distance from the SDHI home office to the customers location at a rate of $1 per mile.
Invoicing & Payment
- SDHI will provide an invoice post project completion for customer review.
- Payment is due at the time of invoicing.
- SDHI accepts most major credit cards, cash, check, and bank transfer.
- Payments made by cash or check will be collected in person at the time of project completion.
- A late fee of 5% will be charged to invoices not paid within 24 hours of issuance.
Down Payment
- SDHI may require a down payment to cover cost of materials before work begins. This will be determined on a per project basis and agreed upon with the customer.
Insurance
- SDHI carries general liability of $1M per incident and $2M aggregate along with professional liability insurance of $10K per incident.
Permits
- SDHI is a Handyman service with an Individual Residential Contractor license and is unable to take on any projects that require additional licensing or certifications to obtain permits.
